Beautiful venues outside your home

As I am now expecting baby number two, I am starting to think about baby showers! I didn't have a traditional baby shower with my first so I really want to have something beautiful and special for my second.

Like many of us, my townhouse is not the best option for hosting an event with a whole heap of girlfriends and possibly their babies. So I am looking around for venues across Brisbane that can host. Preferably venues with air con, platter options and gorgeous decor.

1. Paw Paw Cafe

Paw Paw Cafe in Woolloongabba has a seperate dining area that is available for hire which is perfect for a baby shower. The space is a bali chic garden room with styled decor and furniture.

They can cater for seated or cocktail functions and offer thai buffets, banquets, table platters, canapes and more. The room accommodates for up to 60 guests. There is no room hire fee, simply a minimum spend rate, which can be used for food and drinks.

2. Mercie Event Space

Merci is a boutique event space at Hawthorne. It has a relaxed hamptons meets plantation style interior and a soft palette of colours. It is available for exclusive hire which includes a dedicated bar and balcony. It is fully air conditioned and offer several food and beverage packages tailored to suit your event. These range from morning tea, grazing platters or a high tea.

3. El Rosa by Arc and Family

El Rosa is a pink paradise and its vibe is happy, friendly and surrounded by plants. If you are looking for a place that is instagram worthy, this is your venue. Their gorgeous garden can be hired for private events with a a capacity of approximately 60 for cocktail style events and 40 for banquet style events. Because it is an outdoor space, it is not weather proof.

They are partnered with with two amazing caterers from Sina's Kitchen and Miss Bliss.

4. Kennigo Social House

Kennigo Social House is a fully restored Queenslander perched at the foot of historic Spring Hill. It is also a multi-purpose event space that is available for exclusive hire for up to 40 guests. They do bespoke events for lunch or dinner. Another option is doing a beautiful afternoon high tea.
